China, Qing Dynasty 18th Century Ceramic, glaze 42 x 13,5 cm
This full-bellied vase dates back to the 18th century and therefore originates in the Qing Dynasty. Remarkably, the entire vase is covered with a cobalt blue glaze. A closer look reveals traces of a former gold painting. In these times, the blue color that was used to paint the ceramics and porcelain came via trade from Persia into the Chinese Empire.
