This object is a hydria, a water jug of Greek antiquity, which was also used to store the cremated remains of children. The object is painted with a painting of a female head in profile and palettes as well as a foliage motif. A special feature are the three handles on the hydria, on the one hand two small horizontal handles for lifting and a larger vertical handle attached at the back for scooping and pouring.
