This 19th century Guanyin figurine is made of Blanc de Chine porcelain. The figure is depicted seated on a lotus base. In the background is a mandorla. On the back is a bamboo grove complete with buffaloes. Guanyin is also known as Avalokiteśvara and is the most popular of all the bodhisattvas, as he embodies the virtue of compassion. Guanyin displays the dhyāna mudrā, gesture of meditation.
