North China, 3.000 - 2.000 B.C. (neolithic)
This Neolithic vessel made of terracotta originates from northern China and was made between 3000 and 2000 BC. It has a bulbous shape and a pointed lid. This makes it one of the few objects from this period that still has its lid. On the lower part there are 2 handles on the side. The vessel is painted and decorated with earthy colors, which unfortunately are only partially recognizable. Presumably, this vessel was used to store food or water.
